The first operational expression of Area 1
Madres Agentes del Cambio is a specialized plan — today launching its first cohort — for overcoming poverty among women heads of household, through a comprehensive model that combines social inclusion, entrepreneurship, training, financial education, income generation and close accompaniment, to build economic autonomy and improve their families’ quality of life.
Important: this plan does NOT represent the whole Foundation, and it has no cohorts operating yet (it is in launch phase). It belongs to the “Overcoming poverty” line of Area 1 — Social Development & Human Prosperity. The Foundation works for the evolution of every human being; this is its first program entering operation.

From vulnerability to autonomy
That every mother moves from surviving to thriving: with her own income, a support network, and leadership in her community.
OBJECTIVE 01
Economic autonomy
Sustainable income through entrepreneurship and practical financial education from the very first session.
OBJECTIVE 02
Capabilities for life
Training in personal, family and productive skills with the “Conectando Futuros” curriculum.
OBJECTIVE 03
Network and leadership
Circles of trust that become community fabric: joint savings, mutual care, and women leaders who guide others.
OBJECTIVE 04
Family well-being
Food security and stability for the children while the mother builds her path.
How each cohort will work
STEP 1 · THE CIRCLE
Weekly meetings in her neighborhood
Groups of mothers who meet close to home: trust first, everything else after.
STEP 2 · THE TRAINING
Conectando Futuros
A curriculum of life and business skills: household finances, socio-emotional skills and a trade.
STEP 3 · THE LEVERAGE FUND
Savings and credit — theirs alone
The circle saves and lends under its own rules. The Foundation never touches or lends that money — the leverage is their own effort.
STEP 4 · THE BUSINESS
Low-capital entrepreneurship
Small businesses with close accompaniment, while a decreasing, conditional grocery-grant keeps food on the family table.
STEP 5 · GRADUATION
Autonomy — and many return as mentors
The cycle ends with her business running and VICAS documenting the change. The leaders then walk alongside the next generation.
Population and impact
Beneficiary population: women heads of household in situations of vulnerability in Bogotá and its surroundings, together with their children (first call for participants: when the cohort starts). Early childhood and household food security are part of the design.
Expected impact: mothers with their own stable income, families with better nutrition and measurable well-being (VICAS), and communities with women leaders and a support fabric that remains after the program ends.

Testimonials and indicators
Testimonials: when the first cohorts advance, we will publish testimonials with informed consent and identity protection (Colombian Law 1581). Their stories are theirs — they will appear here when the protagonists authorize it.
Results board: progress is measured with VICAS (26 well-being indicators) and the program’s public flow board. Aggregated results of each cohort will be published here as they exist.
