About us

Born to help, we learned to transform

A Colombian non-profit dedicated to unleashing human potential — ethically, measurably, transparently.

We are a non-profit born in Bogotá in 2022, dedicated to the development, improvement and evolution of the human being: removing the barriers that limit people’s potential and expanding their capabilities. That path began alongside women heads of household — the first operational expression of a mission that embraces every human being.

Our story

We started by giving. We learned to walk alongside.

At first we did what the heart asked: delivering groceries, clothes, whatever a family needed to get through the day. And it helped. But something unsettled us: a month later, the need returned exactly the same. Aid soothed today’s hunger — it did not change tomorrow.

So we changed at the root. Instead of giving for the day, we decided to walk alongside for life. And we placed women heads of household at the center: the women who single-handedly sustain millions of homes in Colombia and who, with the right support at the right moment, become the strongest engine of change in their community.

That is how our flagship plan was born: Madres Agentes del Cambio (Mothers, Agents of Change) — today launching its first cohort: weekly circles in the neighborhood, a savings-and-credit fund of their own (which the Foundation never touches or lends), training and entrepreneurship. With one rule already written: open books, and 80% of every donation goes to the mothers.

How we understand poverty

Poverty is not only a lack of money

To us, being poor is not just having no money. It is having no time, no network to hold you, and — often — no one who believes in you.

It is watching doors close — education, decent work, health — one after another. And seeing how, without anyone intending it, that is inherited by the next generation.

That is why we never measure a mother with a single number. With VICAS, our own instrument (in Spanish), we look at several parts of her life at once — to understand her truly, not halfway.

Mission

To drive the development, improvement and evolution of the human being: to identify and remove the barriers that limit people’s potential, and to create, promote and support initiatives that strengthen and expand their capabilities — always ethically and responsibly.

Vision

A world where no avoidable barrier prevents a person from developing their full potential, and where every human being can live a healthier, freer and fuller life — with opportunities and time to think, create, love, enjoy and leave a mark on the world.

What guides us

Our values

The heart that moves the whole Foundation.

Humanism

Human dignity and human potential are the center of the mission. Every decision is measured first against the person.

Innovation

We drive new solutions to expand human capabilities and create real opportunities.

Excellence

Quality, rigor and continuous improvement in every program and project.

Governance

A work that does not depend on one person

The Foundation was created by its founders, who sustained its early days with their own resources. Today it operates under its Direction and governing bodies, with a model designed so that the work does not depend on a single person, but on a community that backs it and verifies it.

Internal governance: Board of Directors and Compliance Officer, under our regulations (in Spanish).

Where we are heading

From one program to a model of human evolution

What we learned walking alongside the mothers defined a larger purpose: to drive human development, improvement and evolution — removing barriers and expanding, ethically and responsibly, people’s capabilities.

That purpose is today an integral model: one clear mission, nine work areas, and transparent governance. Area 1 — Social Development — is the first one active, with Madres Agentes del Cambio as its flagship plan.
